Yes, all persons must have a valid Canadian fishing licence. A salmon conservation stamp must be affixed to licences held by anglers wishing to retain any species of Pacific Salmon. Your licence must be with you at all times while fishing. The crew can direct you to a convenient location to purchase a licence.
Tailspin Charters accommodates up to 4 people per trip for half-day, full-day, and combo specials, ensuring personalized attention and ample space on the vessel.
Guests should bring a fishing licence, hat, sunscreen, camera, soft sole running shoes, warm clothes, and a cooler to transport your catch. The charter supplies bait, tackle, snacks, pop/juice, and rain gear is available.
A $150 CND deposit is required for all charter bookings. Final payment is due on the day of the charter. If paying by credit card/PayPal, payment is due 7 days prior (PayPal has a 3% administration fee). The deposit is refundable with 30 days notice. It is non-refundable but credited toward a future charter on cancellations with less than 30 days notice. The Captain will fully refund your deposit if cancelling due to unsafe weather.
From November to March, the charter offers Winter Salmon Season Fishing Specials (4, 5, or 8 hours) targeting Chinook salmon, which also includes dropping crab traps.
The vessel is Transport Canada Commercial Vessel Inspected and Certified annually. It is equipped with JRC 1500 Radar, Lowrance Sonar/GPS chart plotter, DSC VHF radio interfaced with emergency distress GPS locator, cell phone, and handheld backup GPS and VHF. The captain holds a Small Commercial Vessel Operators Permit (SVOP), Marine Emergency Duties (MED A1/A2), and current PCOC Certified First Aid.
